About Us

ATL Music Tuition was founded in 1992 by Arthur & Linda James.

Over the years we have taught thousands of students.

ATL Music have been a provider of Music Tuition in the Midlands for the last 20 years.

ATL provide a goal to a career in music through examination and then onto full time study. ATL have a 100% exam pass rate, with most students achieving a Distinction or Merit pass (RGT & Rock School)

ATL Music have staged numerous Charity Shows, raising money for Cancer Research UK, Wishes For Kids, The Rainbows Hospice, Vista (Diabetes), Air Ambulance & Kirby Care Home.

ATL have been consistently approached by TV shows such as The Voice & X Factor for their most talented singers to audition, offering a chance for singers on the path to a performance career.

Arthur James

A professional musician with more than 30 years of T.V. Radio, Recording and Touring experience. Arthur has been a Guitar Tutor for over 25 years, and is a Registered tutor for the R.G.T Registry of Guitar Tutors (London College of Music).

Linda James

An Opera trained, award winning Professional Singer with more than 30 years of T.V. Radio, Recording and Touring experience. Has been a session singer at London Studios during the 1970's. Voted Top Female Vocalist in the Midlands in 1978. Linda was an X Factor Finalist in 2004. T.V. appearances include 'This Morning' in October 2004.

I started playing the guitar on a self-taught basis. The problem was that I reached a level where from then on I could not seem to improve any further. That was why I decided to take professional tuition with Arthur. As a result I have become a more accomplished guitar player and have reached a level, which I could never have achieved on my own. My only regret is that I did not seek Arthur’s help sooner. On acoustic or electric guitar, if you are struggling to improve then I can highly recommend contacting Arthur James.

I’ve been singing with Linda for 7 years. As a young girl, I was very apprehensive when beginning singing lessons. However, Linda made be feel extremely welcome and comfortable in her studio. Hi I’m 14 years old, I play guitar, sing & also write songs. I’ve been learning with Linda since late 2014. When I started lessons, I was very shy and didn’t have much confidence, however Linda really helped me gain confidence. When Linda finds a certain singer/band that your voice suits, she will encourage that. I’m a big Taylor Swift fan, so Linda encourages me to sing her songs. I love my singing lessons and feel I take something away from them every week, and a big part of that is all thanks to the lovely person that Linda is!
